the snow has finally started. i'm happy as a clam working from home today in my sweatpants with my warm pup snuggled next to me! i'm keeping my fingers (+ toes) crossed that we don't lose power. i want to stay warm + toasty!
my sister phoebe was born 19 years ago today, during a storm just like the one that's headed for us. i remember the weather was so bad, my brother + i couldn't go see her at the hospital; we were snowed in with my grandparents. still one of the very best days of my life. happy birthday phoeb!
luckily we finished our grocery shopping earlier this week. last night was full of laundry, digging out candles + flashlights, and lots of baking to try and use up our perishable ingredients. we also took a long walk to downtown northampton + now have a very tired dog to show for it! i'm really grateful that we live so close to the downtown area. it's great for samson to interact with all different kinds of people on busy sidewalks, + we never have to worry about parking if we go out! i'm daydreaming about riding my bike to the downtown farmer's market this summer + filling up the basket with local vegetables! during our walk last night the sky was so pretty as the sun was setting, it didn't seem like bad weather was coming at all.
from the top of the stairs, samson can see out the windows in the front door
i'm not bragging, but i made that hat! (so bragging)

claire from fellow fellow carved her own stamps. i'm so jealous! working up the guts to try it myself with proper supplies instead of fruit.

Nice work on the hat, mama. And, I totally make home-made dog treats for the pugs, too, AND I have a dog-shaped cookie cutter. It's about the only thing I can cook. ;)
