it feels so real now. we finished printing, stamping, and stuffing our invites last week + sent them out on tuesday. now it's time to rest, relax (ha!) + wait as the replies start arriving. in all reality, the list of things to do is so long there was hardly time for a break. luckily our dear friends + my sister threw us our bachelorette party on saturday, and it was such a blast! seriously, i couldn't have imagined a better party, but i'll post about that later (i am so. tired.). in the meantime, our invitations are out there in the universe all by themselves, on their way to or already arrived in the hands of our friends + family!
we started with these customizable letterpress invitations from hello! lucky that we designed to match our wedding colors.
we got our reply cards, envelopes + detail cards from paper source, and bought this font so that everything would match. this self-inking address stamp came in handy in a major way (i know...more font-matching. i have a problem.). i used photoshop skills gained at blogshop boston to lay out the reply cards + envelopes, and we printed it all at home.
we borrowed a vintage typewriter from a friend to type out all the detail cards (all 80 of them). i don't know what nail polish was made of in the '50s when women used these machines all day long, but my nails took quite the beating.
then we put it all together + off they went! i know it's a little earlier than invitations are traditionally sent out, but we have so many people coming from out of town, we wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to make their hotel reservations + travel plans early.
another surprisingly exciting wedding thing happened last week: our first gift was purchased from our registries! it's so silly, but in all the planning, we forgot that we actually get presents, ha! as more + more come in, it's nice to take a minute + daydream about camping with our new sleeping bags, making our own soda, + serving thanksgiving dinner with special tableware.
